Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 cup cold butter, cut into small cubes
  2. 1 cup brown sugar
  3. 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  4. 2 eggs
  5. 1 1/2 cups cake flour
  6. 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  7. 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  8. 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  9. 3/4 teaspoon salt
  10. 2 cups chocolate chips
  11. 2 cups walnuts, roughly chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 410°F (210°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the cold butter and sugars on medium speed for about 4 minutes, until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the cake flour, all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
  • Scoop out the dough into 5 oz balls (about 10 balls total) and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 9-12 minutes, until the cookies are golden brown on the edges but still soft in the center.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • No chilling time is required, making this a quick and easy recipe to satisfy your cookie cravings!
  • For an even more authentic Levain taste, bake them a little longer for crispier edges.
  • The dough balls will spread slightly, so leave some space between them on the baking sheet.
