Description

This fun and festive Leprechaun Bait is the perfect treat for St. Patrick’s Day! A sweet and salty snack mix made with candy melts, popcorn, pretzels, Chex cereal, and mint candies, all coated in vibrant green and white chocolate. It’s a delightful snack for parties, gifts, or simply to share the luck of the Irish!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 cup white candy melts
  2. 1 cup green candy melts
  3. 4 cups popcorn (popped)
  4. 1 ½ cups mini pretzel twists
  5. 2 cups Chex cereal
  6. 1 cup mint candy (like Mint M&Ms or Peppermint Patties, chopped)
  7. St. Patrick’s Day sprinkles (green, gold, and rainbow)

Instructions

  • Melt the Candy Coating:
In separate microwave-safe bowls, melt the white candy melts and green candy melts. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until completely melted and smooth.

  • Mix the Snack Ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine popcorn, mini pretzel twists, Chex cereal, and mint candy. Stir gently to mix everything together.

  • Coat the Snack Mix:
Drizzle the melted white candy melts over the snack mix, and gently toss to coat. Repeat with the melted green candy melts, coating the snack mix evenly.

  • Add the Sprinkles:
While the candy coating is still wet, sprinkle the St. Patrick’s Day sprinkles over the mix, ensuring each piece is covered in festive colors.

  • Let it Set:
Spread the coated snack mix out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to harden.

  • Serve & Enjoy:
Once set, break the mixture into pieces and serve your Leprechaun Bait in bowls or gift bags!

Notes

  • Add extra chocolate drizzle on top for more sweetness!
  • Use gold-colored sprinkles or rainbow candy to enhance the festive look.

  • Package it in clear gift bags for a cute St. Patrick’s Day treat to share!
