Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups water
- 3 green tea bags
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, sliced
- 1/4 cup honey (or to taste)
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Boil the water: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium pot. Remove from heat.
- Steep the tea and ginger: Add the green tea bags and fresh ginger slices to the hot water. Cover the pot and let the mixture steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired tea strength.
- Sweeten with honey: Remove the tea bags and ginger slices. Stir in the honey while the tea is still warm, allowing it to dissolve completely.
- Add lemon juice: Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Chill the tea: Let the tea cool to room temperature. Transfer it to the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour.
- Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice. Garnish with lemon slices if desired.
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey to taste.
- For a stronger ginger flavor, let the ginger slices steep longer in the hot water.
