1 package (15-count) frozen mini phyllo tarts
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
Zest from 2 limes (plus extra for garnish)
2 tbsp powdered sugar
2 large egg yolks
Whipped cream, for topping
Key limes, sliced thin, for garnish
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the frozen mini phyllo tarts on a baking sheet and set aside.
Prepare the Key Lime Filling:
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, fresh lime juice, lime zest, powdered sugar, and egg yolks until smooth and creamy.
Fill the Tartlets:
Using a small spoon, carefully fill each mini phyllo tart with the key lime mixture, leaving a slight space at the top to prevent overflow.
Bake the Tartlets:
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly puffed. Remove from the oven and let the tartlets cool completely.
Add the Toppings:
Once cooled, top each tartlet with a dollop of whipped cream. Garnish with a sprinkle of lime zest and a thin slice of key lime.
Serve:
Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
Notes
You can make these tartlets ahead of time and refrigerate them for a few hours before serving for a cool, refreshing treat.
If you don’t have key limes, regular limes can be used as a substitute.
Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less powdered sugar, depending on your taste.
