Ingredients
Scale
-
- 4 beef steaks (sirloin or ribeye)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
-
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup beef or chicken stock
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the steaks: Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season steaks with salt and pepper.
- Sear the steaks: Cook steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust to your preferred doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside to rest.
- Prepare the sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Make the creamy sauce: Lower the heat and pour in heavy cream and stock. Stir in Dijon mustard, thyme, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Combine steaks and sauce: Return the steaks to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Let them warm for 1-2 minutes.
- Serve: Serve the steaks topped with the creamy garlic sauce and garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
- You can adjust the thickness of the sauce by adding more or less stock.
- Serve with a side of mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
- For a lighter option, you can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
