Description

These Honey Garlic Jerk Chicken Wings are the perfect combination of sweet, savory, and spicy. Crispy, air-fried wings are coated in a flavorful homemade honey garlic jerk sauce, making them irresistible. Plus, they’re gluten-free and easy to make!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 2 1/2 lb party chicken wing dings (disjointed with tips removed)
  2. Salt and pepper, to taste
  3. 8 tsp jerk seasoning (up to 9 tsp, to taste)
  4. 2 tsp baking powder
  5. Cooking spray
  6. 2 tbsp salted butter
  7. 5 garlic cloves, minced
  8. 1/4 cup honey
  9. 1 1/2 tsp tamari (or gluten-free soy sauce)
  10. 1/4 tsp gluten-free hot sauce
  11. 1/4 tsp ground ginger (or fresh grated ginger, if desired)
  12. 1/8 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, pat dry chicken wings with a paper towel. Season with salt and pepper, then toss with jerk seasoning and baking powder until evenly coated.
  • Preheat air fryer to 400°F. Spray the air fryer rack with cooking spray and arrange the chicken wings evenly on the rack, making sure not to overcrowd.
  • Air fry wings for 15-17 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and cooked through.
  • Meanwhile, melt butter in a small pot over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  • Stir in honey, tamari, hot sauce, ginger, and paprika, and allow the sauce to simmer for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Once wings are crispy, add them to the sauce, coating evenly, or brush the sauce on the wings. Place the wings back in the air fryer for another 8 minutes to allow the sauce to set.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust the jerk seasoning and hot sauce to your preferred spice level.
  • Make sure not to overcrowd the wings in the air fryer to ensure they cook evenly and become crispy.
  • You can substitute tamari with regular soy sauce if you’re not concerned about gluten.
