Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb steak (cut into strips)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 cup rice (uncooked)
- 2 cups beef broth
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook Steak: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper, then cook until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- Make Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes. Stir in honey, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Bring to a simmer and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Cook Rice: Add the uncooked rice to the skillet, then pour in the beef broth. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce the heat to low. Let the rice cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Combine: Add the cooked steak back into the skillet and stir to combine. Let everything heat through.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- You can substitute the steak with chicken for a different flavor profile.
- Adjust the sweetness or saltiness by modifying the honey or soy sauce amounts.
- For a spicier kick, add some red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
