Description

A savory, sweet, and flavorful dish, this Honey Garlic Butter Steak and Rice Skillet combines tender steak, perfectly cooked rice, and a luscious honey garlic butter sauce for an unforgettable meal. It’s quick, easy, and sure to be a family favorite!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 lb steak (cut into strips)
  2. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  3. 1 tablespoon butter
  4. 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  5. 1/4 cup honey
  6. 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  7. 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  8. 1 cup rice (uncooked)
  9. 2 cups beef broth
  10. Salt and pepper, to taste
  11. Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook Steak: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper, then cook until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes. Stir in honey, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Bring to a simmer and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Cook Rice: Add the uncooked rice to the skillet, then pour in the beef broth. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce the heat to low. Let the rice cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  • Combine: Add the cooked steak back into the skillet and stir to combine. Let everything heat through.
  • Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute the steak with chicken for a different flavor profile.
  • Adjust the sweetness or saltiness by modifying the honey or soy sauce amounts.
  • For a spicier kick, add some red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
