Description

These Southern Fried Salmon Patties are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. The perfect balance of fish, cornmeal, and mayo makes these patties an absolute crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 (14 3/4 ounce) canned salmon, drained
  2. 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  3. 1/4 cup cornmeal
  4. 1/4 cup flour
  5. 1 egg
  6. 3 tablespoons mayonnaise

Instructions

  • Open the canned salmon and drain thoroughly. Flake the salmon evenly with a fork in a mixing bowl.
  • Add the chopped onion, cornmeal, flour, mayonnaise, and egg to the salmon mixture. Stir until well blended.
  • Shape the mixture into patties, about the size of an average burger or smaller.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties until browned on each side. Flip them once while frying to ensure even cooking.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • The mayonnaise helps the patties hold their shape and keeps them moist, preventing them from being dry.
  • Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  • If you prefer a crunchier texture, add more cornmeal to the mixture.
