This homemade pizza recipe delivers a delicious, crispy crust topped with gooey mozzarella and your favorite toppings. Perfect for a family dinner or a fun weekend activity.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. For the Dough:

    • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
    • 1 cup warm water
    • 2 tbsp oil (olive oil preferred)

    For the Toppings:

    1. 1/2 cup pizza sauce
    2. 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
    3. Toppings of your choice (pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, sausage, etc.)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add the flour, salt, and oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
  • Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  • Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza peel.
  • Add Toppings:
    • Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
    • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
    • Add your favorite toppings.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.

  • Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, preheat a pizza stone in the oven.
  • If you like a thicker crust, let the dough rise a bit longer or roll it out less thin.

  • Experiment with different toppings to suit your taste.
