Description

Indulge in these fudgy, rich homemade brownies that are a perfect treat for any occasion. With a chewy texture and dark chocolate chunks, they’re sure to satisfy your chocolate cravings!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted
  2. 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
  3. 1 cup (200g) brown sugar (for extra chewiness)
  4. 4 large eggs
  5. 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  6. 1 cup (120g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  7. 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  8. ½ tsp salt
  9. ½ tsp baking powder (optional, for slightly cakier brownies)
  10. 1 cup (175g) dark chocolate chunks or chips

Instructions

  • Prep:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper and grease lightly.

  • Mix the Batter:
In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition.
    Stir in vanilla extract.
Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, and gently fold until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chunks or chips for extra fudginess.

  • Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is shiny and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter!).
Let cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing for the best texture.

Notes

  • For extra fudginess, do not overmix the batter after adding the dry ingredients.
  • Feel free to add nuts (like walnuts or pecans) for a bit of crunch.

  • Adjust baking time depending on the size of the pan (9×9-inch will bake faster than 8×8-inch).
