A hearty and comforting dish made with lean ground beef, russet potatoes, creamy soups, and cheddar cheese, topped with crispy French fried onions. Perfect for a family dinner!

  1. 1 lb lean ground beef
  2. 1 yellow onion, diced
  3. 4 russet potatoes, sliced
  4. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  5. 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  6. 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of potato soup
  7. 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  8. 1/4 cup milk
  9. 1 tsp Creole seasoning
  10. 1 cup crispy French fried onions
  11. Salt, to taste
  12. Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Brown beef: Add ground beef to a 10-inch cast iron skillet or small casserole dish. Press down and season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with diced onions.
  • Layer potatoes and cheese: Lay sliced potatoes over the top in an even layer. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Make sauce: Combine cream of chicken soup, cream of potato soup, Worcestershire sauce, milk, and Creole seasoning in a medium mixing bowl. Whisk well.
  • Pour sauce: Pour the sauce over the cheese and spread evenly.
  • Bake: Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1.5 hours. Remove foil, sprinkle with French fried onions, and broil for a few minutes to brown the top.
  • Serve: Remove from the oven and serve hot.

  • You can adjust the seasoning according to your preference, and feel free to add more cheese if desired.
  • Make sure to slice the potatoes evenly for uniform cooking.
  • For a creamy texture, use whole milk in the sauce.
