Ingredients

Scale
  1. 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  3. ½ teaspoon salt
  4. 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  5. ¾ cup light brown sugar (packed)
  6. ½ cup granulated sugar
  7. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  8. 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  9. 1 ½ cups mini chocolate chips
  10. Sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a separate large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in mini chocolate chips.
  • Shape the Cookies:
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Roll out the dough to about ¼-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the cookies. Place them on a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Add Sprinkles & Bake:
Sprinkle festive sprinkles over the cookies before baking. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden brown. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • You can switch up the chocolate chips for other types like dark chocolate or white chocolate for different flavors.
  • If you don’t have a heart-shaped cookie cutter, any shape will work!
