These festive Grinch Oreo Balls are the perfect treat for your holiday celebrations! With their bright red velvet Oreo base, creamy center, and adorable red candy heart on top, they’ll bring a touch of fun to your dessert table.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 24.4 ounces Red Velvet Oreos (2 packages, 44 cookies total): A colorful, flavorful base for the truffles.
  2. 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature: Adds creaminess and binds the Oreo crumbs.
  3. 15 ounces light green candy melts: For dipping and coating the Oreo balls with a festive green hue.
  4. Red candy hearts: For the perfect finishing touch and Grinch-inspired decoration.

Instructions

  • Prepare the baking sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Crush the Oreos: Using a food processor, crush the Red Velvet Oreos into fine crumbs. Alternatively, place them in a zip-closure plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin.
  • Mix the filling: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric hand mixer on high speed until smooth and creamy.
  • Combine the ingredients: Add the Oreo crumbs to the cream cheese and mix until fully incorporated.
  • Shape the balls: Using a 1.5” cookie scoop, scoop portions of the mixture and roll into smooth balls. Arrange the balls on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Chill: Refrigerate the balls for at least 2 hours to firm up.
  • Melt the candy: Melt the candy melts in a double boiler over low heat, stirring until smooth. Set aside ½ cup of the candy melts for drizzling.
  • Dip the balls: Using a fork or toothpick, dip each chilled ball into the melted candy, letting any excess drip off, then place them back on the baking sheet.
  • Drizzle and decorate: Drizzle the reserved melted candy over the balls and top with a red candy heart while the drizzle is still soft.
  • Set the coating: Return the balls to the refrigerator until the candy coating is fully set.

Notes

  • Be sure to let the Oreo balls firm up in the fridge to ensure the candy coating sticks properly.
  • If you don’t have red candy hearts, you can substitute with any festive sprinkles or candies you prefer.
