These homemade green tea, lemon, and ginger chews are the perfect balance of refreshing flavors with a hint of spice from ginger! Packed with antioxidants and a zesty punch, they make for a great healthy snack

Ingredients

  1. 3/4 cup cold water
  2. 5 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
  3. 1/2 cup strongly brewed green tea (use 4 tea bags)
  4. 1/3 cup ginger juice
  5. 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice or preservative-free bottled lemon juice
  6. Optional: honey, to taste

Instructions

  • Pour cold water into a medium saucepan and sprinkle gelatin powder evenly on top. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  • Brew green tea with 4 tea bags, steeping per package instructions. Remove the bags and ensure you have 1/2 cup of strong tea.
  • Add the brewed tea, ginger juice, and lemon juice to the bloomed gelatin. Heat on low, stirring until gelatin dissolves. Avoid boiling.
  • Taste and sweeten with honey if desired, stirring to combine.
  • Carefully pour the mixture into silicone molds or a lightly greased baking dish.
  • Refrigerate for 2 hours, or until firm.
  • Once firm, remove from molds or cut into squares. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.

  • You can use honey to sweeten, but it’s optional for those who prefer a more natural taste.
  • These chews can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
  • Silicone molds are recommended for easy removal; alternatively, use a greased baking dish and cut into squares
