This classic Orange Salad is a nostalgic, creamy, and citrusy dish that brings back warm memories of family gatherings and holiday dinners. It’s light, fluffy, and bursting with sweet orange flavor—perfect for Easter, potlucks, or Sunday dinners!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 box (3 oz) orange gelatin (Jell-O)
  2. 1 cup boiling water
  3. 1/2 cup cold water
  4. 1 small can (11 oz) mandarin oranges, drained
  5. 1 small can (8 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
  6. 1 cup mini marshmallows
  7. 1 cup whipped topping (Cool Whip) or homemade whipped cream
  8. 1/2 cup cottage cheese (optional, for extra creaminess)
  9. 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional, for crunch)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Gelatin
In a medium bowl, dissolve the orange gelatin in boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved. Add cold water, mix well, and let it cool slightly (but not set).

  • Mix the Salad
Stir in the drained mandarin oranges, crushed pineapple, and mini marshmallows. If using, fold in the cottage cheese for a creamy texture. Gently fold in the whipped topping until everything is combined and fluffy.

  • Chill & Serve
Transfer to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm. Before serving, sprinkle with chopped pecans or walnuts for a little crunch (optional).

Notes

  • You can use homemade whipped cream instead of Cool Whip for a fresher taste.
  • For an extra touch, add maraschino cherries on top before serving.
