Description
This Burrata Toast with Hot Honey is the ultimate flavor-packed snack or appetizer — creamy burrata meets spicy-sweet hot honey, bright lemon zest, and fresh thyme all on a crispy slice of toasted sourdough or focaccia. Ready in under 10 minutes, it’s easy, elegant, and seriously crave-worthy.
Ingredients
2 thick slices of bread (sourdough or focaccia)
1 ball of burrata
2 tbsp hot honey sauce (or 2 tbsp honey + 1/2 tsp chili flakes)
1 lemon, zested
1 tbsp olive oil
1 garlic clove, peeled
2 sprigs fresh thyme
1 tsp flaky salt
Instructions
-
Toast your bread: In a pan — heat 1/2 tbsp olive oil over medium heat. Add bread, drizzle remaining oil on top, toast for 2 minutes, flip, and toast another minute. Or in the oven — preheat grill to 200°C/393°F, drizzle both sides of bread with olive oil, grill 2–3 mins per side until golden.
-
Rub garlic: Slice garlic clove in half and gently rub the cut side over the toasted bread.
-
Assemble: Tear burrata and divide over toast slices. Drizzle each slice with 1 tbsp hot honey.
-
Finish: Sprinkle lemon zest, thyme leaves, and flaky salt. Serve immediately while warm and crispy.
Notes
For extra depth, use chili oil instead of chili flakes in the honey. Add prosciutto or crushed pistachios for a twist. Best served immediately after assembly for optimal texture.
