Ingredients

  1. 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  2. 4 cloves garlic, minced
  3. 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  4. 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  5. 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  6. Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat.
  • Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the garlic is fragrant and just beginning to turn golden.
  • Stir in the dried oregano, dried basil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Continue to cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
  • Allow the garlic sauce to cool slightly before using it as a pizza sauce.

Notes

  • This garlic sauce can also be used as a dip for breadsticks or a drizzle over pasta.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on how spicy you like it.
