- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the garlic is fragrant and just beginning to turn golden.
- Stir in the dried oregano, dried basil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Continue to cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
- Allow the garlic sauce to cool slightly before using it as a pizza sauce.
Notes
- This garlic sauce can also be used as a dip for breadsticks or a drizzle over pasta.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on how spicy you like it.
