These garlic noodles are bursting with flavor, thanks to a savory mix of garlic, butter, soy sauce, and a touch of Parmesan cheese. Perfectly balanced and easy to make, this dish is a great side or even a main course. Serve with your favorite protein or enjoy on its own

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 pound Asian noodles or spaghetti (Hakka style noodles recommended)
  2. 1 bulb garlic, minced
  3. 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  4. 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  5. 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  6. 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  7. 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  8. ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  9. Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  10. 2 green onions, sliced (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the Asian noodles or spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and brown sugar. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet or wok, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant and slightly golden, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  • Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and pour the sauce over the noodles. Toss to combine and coat the noodles evenly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the noodles are heated through.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until well combined.

  • Season with freshly ground black pepper to taste. Garnish with sliced green onions if desired.

Notes

  • You can use any type of noodles, but Asian-style noodles are preferred for authenticity.
  • If you prefer a bit of heat, add red pepper flakes or a splash of chili oil.
  • For a richer flavor, feel free to use regular soy sauce instead of low-sodium soy sauce.

  • This dish can easily be served as a side or as a main with your choice of protein, like shrimp or chicken.
