Description

A creamy and flavorful garlic herb cheese log made with goat cheese, fresh herbs, and pecans, perfect for serving with crackers, bread, or veggies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (11 oz) soft fresh goat cheese log (may substitute all or part with cream cheese)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives (1 ½ teaspoon dried)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley (1 ½ teaspoons dried)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh basil leaves (1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh oregano leaves (½ teaspoon dried)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (¼ teaspoon garlic powder)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper (or freshly cracked to taste)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • Drizzle of olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the chives, parsley, basil, oregano, garlic, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place the goat cheese log (or cream cheese, if using) in a medium bowl. Gently mix in the chopped herbs and garlic until evenly distributed.
  3. Use your hands or a spatula to shape the cheese mixture into a log.
  4. Roll the cheese log in the finely chopped pecans, ensuring it is well-coated on all sides.
  5. Wrap the cheese log in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together.
  6. Before serving, drizzle with a little olive oil for added richness. Enjoy with crackers, bread, or veggies!

Notes

  • Substitute cream cheese for a milder flavor, or use all goat cheese for a tangier taste.
  • Chill the cheese log for at least 1 hour to enhance the flavor and texture.
  • Can be served as an appetizer or party snack, perfect with a variety of accompaniments.
