Ingredients
Scale
-
Dry Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Wet Ingredients:
- 1 ¼ cups milk (any type)
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
Make the Batter:
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Add milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla (if using). Mix gently until just combined. A few lumps are okay—don’t overmix!
Cook the Pancakes:
- Heat a non-stick griddle or skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or oil.
- Pour ¼ cup of batter onto the hot griddle for each pancake.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set (about 2 minutes). Flip and cook for 1-2 more minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the pan and keep warm until ready to serve.
Serve:
- Stack the pancakes and top with butter, maple syrup, fresh fruit, or your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
Notes
- For extra fluffy pancakes, let the batter rest for 5 minutes before cooking.
- Swap regular milk with almond or oat milk for a dairy-free option.
- Use whole wheat flour for a healthier twist.
