Description

Chili Cheese Toast is the ultimate spicy, melty, savory snack that’s perfect for any time of day. With layers of gooey mozzarella, bold aromatics, and a crunchy golden toast base, this quick-bake favorite is packed with flavor and heat.


Ingredients

  • 5 slices sourdough or any bread of your choice
  • 2 tbsp Boursin cheese or cream cheese (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped onions
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped green bell peppers
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 34 Thai green chilies (adjust to spice preference)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper powder
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Spread butter on both sides of the bread slices. If using, spread a thin layer of Boursin or cream cheese on one side.
  3. In a bowl, mix mozzarella, onions, bell peppers, garlic, chopped green chilies, salt, black pepper, oregano, and cilantro.
  4. Spread the cheese and veggie mixture evenly over the bread slices.
  5. Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes or until the cheese melts and turns golden.
  6. Serve hot as a spicy, cheesy snack.

Notes

  • Use white or whole wheat bread if sourdough is not available.
  • Adjust the number of green chilies based on your spice tolerance.
  • Add a sprinkle of red chili flakes for extra heat.
