These Easter Dirt Cups are a fun, festive treat perfect for your holiday celebrations! With creamy chocolate pudding, crunchy Oreo “dirt,” and adorable Easter-themed candies, this dessert is a crowd-pleaser. Top with green coconut “grass” for an extra springtime touch.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 2 cups cold milk
  2. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  3. 1 cup shredded coconut
  4. 1 package (14 oz) chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreos), crushed
  5. 1 box (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  6. 1 cup whipped topping (Cool Whip)
  7. ½ cup cream cheese, softened (optional for extra creaminess)
  8. ½ cup powdered sugar (if using cream cheese)
  9. Green food coloring
  10. Easter-themed candies (gummy bunnies, chocolate eggs, mini marshmallows, Peeps, etc.)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pudding:
In a large bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and cold milk until thickened. Let it set for about 5 minutes.

  • Add Cream Cheese (Optional):
If using cream cheese, beat it with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Then fold it into the pudding mixture.

  • Fold in Whipped Topping:
Gently fold in the whipped topping (Cool Whip) until fully combined.

  • Make Easter Grass:
In a small bowl, mix the shredded coconut with a few drops of green food coloring to create “Easter grass.”

  • Assemble the Cups:
Divide half of the crushed Oreos into the bottom of serving cups. Spoon the chocolate pudding mixture over the cookie layer. Sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreos on top to resemble “dirt.”

  • Decorate:
Decorate with Easter-themed candies like gummy bunnies, chocolate eggs, or Peeps. Add the green coconut “grass” for a fun finishing touch.

  • Chill:
Chill for 15-20 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • If you prefer a dairy-free version, you can substitute the cream cheese with a non-dairy option and use a non-dairy whipped topping.
  • You can use any Easter candies you like, such as mini marshmallows, chocolate eggs, or jelly beans, to make the cups even more festive.
  • This recipe is great for making ahead of time—just chill and serve when ready!
