This Doritos Chicken Casserole is the ultimate comfort food, combining cheesy, creamy chicken with the perfect crunch from Doritos! It’s a family favorite that’s easy to make and packed with flavor. Perfect for busy weeknights or a fun dinner party!

    1. 3 cups cooked, shredded chicken (rotisserie works great!)
    2. 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
    3. 1 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
    4. 1 can (10 oz) Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chilies), drained
    5. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    6. 1 teaspoon onion powder
    7. 1 teaspoon taco seasoning
    8. 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
    9. 1 bag (9.75 oz) Nacho Cheese Doritos, crushed
    10. 1/2 cup milk
    11. 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)

 

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  • Make the Creamy Chicken Mixture: In a large bowl, mix cream of chicken soup, sour cream, drained Rotel, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and taco seasoning. Stir in shredded chicken and 1 cup of cheddar cheese.
  • Assemble the Casserole: Layer half of the crushed Doritos on the bottom of the greased dish. Spread the creamy chicken mixture evenly over the chips. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese on top.
  • Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle the remaining Doritos over the top, and bake uncovered for another 5-10 minutes until crispy and bubbly.
  • Serve & Enjoy: Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions or a dollop of sour cream if desired.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, swap sour cream for Greek yogurt.
  • You can use any flavor of Doritos you like, but Nacho Cheese gives the best flavor.
  • Add a side of salsa or guacamole for extra flavor.
  • You can prepare the casserole ahead of time and refrigerate it until you’re ready to bake.
