Ingredients

Scale
  1. 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  2. 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  3. ½ cup chopped dill pickles (about 34 medium-sized pickles)
  4. 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried dill)
  5. 2 tablespoons pickle juice (optional for extra flavor)
  6. 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  7. 2 teaspoons onion powder
  8. Salt and pepper, to taste
  9. ½ cup chopped pecans (optional, for coating)
  10. 2 tablespoons fresh chopped chives (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Mix Ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped dill pickles, fresh dill, pickle juice (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Shape the Cheese Ball:

    • Transfer the mixture to a sheet of plastic wrap. Shape into a ball or log, then wrap tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up.
  3. Coat and Garnish:

    • If using pecans, roll the cheese ball in chopped pecans to coat the outside. Garnish with fresh chives for added color and flavor.
  4. Serve:

    • Remove from the refrigerator about 10 minutes before serving to allow it to soften slightly. Serve with crackers, veggie sticks, or bread slices. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For a spicy twist, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
  • Substitute pecans with crushed pretzels or crushed crackers for a different texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
