Ingredients

Scale
  1. For the Nachos:

    1. 1 lb ground beef
    2. 1 packet taco seasoning
    3. 1/2 cup water
    4. 1 large bag tortilla chips (sturdy ones are best)
    5. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    6. 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
    7. 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
    8. 1/4 cup diced red onions
    9. 1/4 cup sliced black olives
    10. 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños
    11. 1/2 cup sour cream
    12. 1/2 cup guacamole
    13. 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  • Cook the Ground Beef:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
Add the taco seasoning packet and water. Stir well and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.

  • Prepare the Toppings:
Dice the tomatoes and red onions.
Slice the black olives and jalapeños.
Shred the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.
    Chop the fresh cilantro.

  • Assemble the Nachos:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
On a large baking sheet (or oven-safe platter), spread a layer of tortilla chips.
Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses over the chips.
Top with the cooked ground beef.
Add the diced tomatoes, red onions, black olives, and jalapeños.
Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheeses over the toppings.

  • Bake the Nachos:
Bake for 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Add Cold Toppings:
Remove the nachos from the oven.
Dollop sour cream and guacamole over the top.
    Sprinkle with chopped fresh cilantro.

  • Serve Immediately:
    Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra heat, you can add more jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the nachos.
  • You can substitute the ground beef with ground chicken or turkey for a leaner option.

  • These nachos can be served as a meal or a shareable snack for parties!
