Description

Indulge in juicy, perfectly seared steak smothered in a rich, spicy Cajun shrimp sauce—an irresistible surf and turf combination perfect for any special occasion

Ingredients

Scale
  1. For the Steak:

    • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
    • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning (divided)
    • Salt and black pepper to taste

    For the Shrimp:

    • ½ lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
    • 2 tbsp olive oil (divided)
    • 2 tbsp butter

    For the Cajun Sauce:

    • 2 garlic cloves, minced
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • ½ cup chicken broth
    • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

    For Garnish:

    1. Fresh chopped parsley

Instructions

  • Season the Steaks:
Coat the steaks with half of the Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

  • Sear the Steaks:
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side (for medium-rare) or to your preferred doneness. Remove and let rest.

  • Cook the Shrimp:
In the same skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter. Add the shrimp, season with the remaining Cajun seasoning, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are pink. Remove and set aside.

  • Make the Sauce:
Add the remaining butter and garlic to the skillet. Sauté until fragrant.
Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the skillet, then stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens.

  • Combine:
Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss them in the creamy Cajun sauce to coat.

  • Serve & Enjoy:
Top the steaks with shrimp and drizzle generously with the Cajun cream sauce. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • For an extra flavor boost, marinate the steaks with Cajun seasoning for an hour before cooking.
  • This dish pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.
  • Adjust the Cajun seasoning based on your spice preference.
