This easy Crustless Pizza Bake is the perfect comfort food—loaded with savory ground Italian sausage, mozzarella cheese, and your favorite pizza toppings, all baked together to perfection. No crust, just all the delicious pizza flavors!

Ingredients

  1. 1 jar RAO’s marinara sauce
  2. 3 cups mozzarella cheese (divided)
  3. 1 lb ground Italian sausage (or meat combo of choice)
  4. 1 green pepper, chopped
  5. Mushrooms, sliced
  6. 1 small onion, chopped
  7. Optional: Additional toppings of your choice (pepperoni, olives, bell peppers, etc.)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Pour 1/2 cup marinara sauce into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine chopped green pepper, mushrooms, onions, ground sausage, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, and 1 cup marinara sauce. Stir to combine.
  • Pour the topping mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the remaining 2 cups of mozzarella cheese over the top.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • If desired, broil for an additional 3-5 minutes to brown the cheese on top.

Notes

  • You can customize this recipe with your favorite pizza toppings, such as olives, pepperoni, or even bacon!
  • If you prefer a slightly crispier topping, broiling at the end helps achieve that golden brown crust.

 

  • Use any marinara sauce you prefer, but RAO’s is recommended for its rich flavor.
