Ingredients

  1. 1 cup sushi rice, cooked and seasoned
  2. 1/2 lb fresh salmon, sliced into strips
  3. 1/2 avocado, sliced
  4. 1/4 cucumber, julienned
  5. 1 sheet nori (seaweed)
  6. 1/4 cup tempura flakes (crispy bits)
  7. 1 tbsp spicy mayo (optional)
  8. 1 tsp sesame seeds
  9. Soy sauce, for serving

Instructions

  1. Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat, shiny side down.
  2. Spread an even layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a 1/2-inch border at the top.
  3. Arrange salmon, avocado, and cucumber along the bottom edge of the rice.
  4. Roll tightly using the sushi mat, sealing the edge with a bit of water.
  5. Sprinkle tempura flakes and sesame seeds on top of the roll.
  6. Slice into bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife.
  7. Drizzle with spicy mayo if desired and serve with soy sauce.

Notes

  • You can replace the spicy mayo with wasabi for a more traditional sushi flavor.
