The flavors of tender pierogies, savory kielbasa, and creamy cheese come together effortlessly in the crockpot for an easy, crowd-pleasing meal. Serve with green onions for a pop of color and crunch

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 3 packages of Mrs. T’s Cheddar Pierogies
  2. 4 cups chicken broth
  3. 1 (8-ounce) block of cream cheese
  4. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  5. 1 pound kielbasa, sliced
  6. Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Combine Ingredients in Crockpot: In a 4-6 quart crockpot, combine 3 cups of the chicken broth, the frozen pierogies, sliced kielbasa, and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir to evenly distribute the ingredients.
  • Cook the Casserole: Set the crockpot to cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6 hours. The long cooking time allows the flavors to meld together.
  • Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: About 30 minutes before the end of cooking time, warm the cream cheese with the remaining 1 cup of chicken broth in the microwave or on the stovetop. Whisk until smooth.
  • Final Assembly: Pour the cream cheese mixture into the crockpot, stirring to combine. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese on top. Cover and cook on low for another 30 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and the flavors to blend.
  • Serve & Enjoy: Serve the casserole hot, optionally garnished with sliced green onions for color and added crunch.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, feel free to add a sprinkle of garlic powder or some dried herbs to the casserole.
  • Green onions make a nice garnish, but they’re optional.
