- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 medium sweet onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Potato Layer
- 4 lbs russet potatoes, cleaned and sliced ¼ inch thick
Creamy Sauce
- 2 cans cream of chicken soup
- 1½ cups milk
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
Topping
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and Italian sausage with diced onion and garlic until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- In a bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes to create the sauce.
- Lightly grease the inside of your crockpot. Layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
- Spread half of the meat mixture evenly over the potatoes.
- Pour half of the creamy soup mixture over the meat layer.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, meat, and sauce.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.
- About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover and let the cheese melt into a gooey layer.
- Scoop and serve warm straight from the crockpot.
