- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp black pepper
Thickening Slurry
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
Cook Steak
- Place steak pieces in the crockpot.
- In a bowl, whisk together Dr. Pepper, honey, brown sugar, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and black pepper. Pour over the steak.
- Cook on low for 5–6 hours or on high for 3–4 hours until steak is tender.
Thicken Sauce and Serve
- Mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
- Remove steak from crockpot and set aside.
- Stir slurry into the crockpot sauce and cook on high for 10–15 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Return steak to the sauce, toss to coat, and serve.
Notes
- Use your favorite cut of steak; tougher cuts work great when slow-cooked.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, add a bit more cornstarch slurry as needed.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
- For added flavor, sprinkle fresh chopped parsley on top before serving.
