Ingredients

Scale

Steak and Sauce

  • 2 lbs steak, cut into bite-size pieces (sirloin, London broil, chuck roast, or stew beef)
  • 1 cup Dr. Pepper
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Thickening Slurry

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

Cook Steak

  1. Place steak pieces in the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together Dr. Pepper, honey, brown sugar, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and black pepper. Pour over the steak.
  3. Cook on low for 5–6 hours or on high for 3–4 hours until steak is tender.

Thicken Sauce and Serve

  1. Mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  2. Remove steak from crockpot and set aside.
  3. Stir slurry into the crockpot sauce and cook on high for 10–15 minutes until sauce thickens.
  4. Return steak to the sauce, toss to coat, and serve.

Notes

  • Use your favorite cut of steak; tougher cuts work great when slow-cooked.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, add a bit more cornstarch slurry as needed.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
  • For added flavor, sprinkle fresh chopped parsley on top before serving.
