Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 2 eggs, beaten
- ½ cup cornstarch
- ½ cup flour
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
- Optional: chili flakes for heat
- Oil for frying
- Green onions & sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat dry shrimp and season with salt & pepper.
- Set up batter: mix flour and cornstarch in a shallow bowl. Dip shrimp in egg, then dredge in flour mixture.
- Fry shrimp in hot oil (350°F/175°C) for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- In a pan, sauté garlic in a touch of oil. Add honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili flakes. Simmer until the glaze is slightly thickened.
- Toss fried shrimp in the glaze and coat evenly. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust chili flakes to your spice preference.
- For extra crunch, fry the shrimp in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
- Serve over rice or with a side of vegetables for a complete meal.
- For a lighter version, bake the shrimp instead of frying.
