Description

These crispy, golden shrimp are tossed in a sweet and savory honey glaze with a touch of heat from chili flakes, creating a mouthwatering dish that’s perfect for any occasion. Serve with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and green onions for a burst of flavor and color.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ½ cup flour
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
  • Optional: chili flakes for heat
  • Oil for frying
  • Green onions & sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat dry shrimp and season with salt & pepper.
  2. Set up batter: mix flour and cornstarch in a shallow bowl. Dip shrimp in egg, then dredge in flour mixture.
  3. Fry shrimp in hot oil (350°F/175°C) for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  4. In a pan, sauté garlic in a touch of oil. Add honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili flakes. Simmer until the glaze is slightly thickened.
  5. Toss fried shrimp in the glaze and coat evenly. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!

  • For extra crunch, fry the shrimp in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
