Description
This air fryer tofu is crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor! It’s the perfect plant-based protein for salads, grain bowls, wraps, or dipping into your favorite sauc
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (for crispiness)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (or sesame oil)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Press the Tofu:
- Wrap the tofu in a clean towel and place a heavy object (like a pan) on top.
- Let it sit for 15-20 minutes to remove excess moisture.
- Cut & Season:
- Cut tofu into bite-sized cubes or strips.
- In a bowl, toss with soy sauce, oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper.
- Sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu and toss again to evenly coat.
- Air Fry:
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket (don’t overcrowd!).
- Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Serve & Enjoy!
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or over rice, noodles, or salads!
Notes
- Make sure to press the tofu well to remove excess moisture for the crispiest texture.
- You can adjust the seasoning to your preference—add more smoked paprika for extra flavor or a splash of lime juice for brightness.
- If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake the tofu in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
