Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (16 oz) package frozen pierogies (potato and cheese)
- 14 oz smoked sausage, sliced into ¼-inch pieces
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion until soft.
- In a large bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add the frozen pierogies, smoked sausage slices, sautéed onions, and half the cheddar cheese to the mixture. Stir gently to combine.
- Transfer everything to a crockpot. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
- Cook on low for 3–4 hours or until the pierogies are tender and casserole is heated through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- You can use kielbasa or any other smoked sausage as a substitute.
- For added flavor, stir in a splash of hot sauce or mustard.
- To make it spicier, add diced jalapeños or chili flakes.
- This dish also works well with frozen mini pierogies for bite-sized portions.
