- 4 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

Combine Rice and Milk:
In a medium saucepan, combine the rice and milk. -
Simmer and Stir:
Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. -
Add Sugar and Salt:
Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the sugar and salt. -
Simmer to Creamy Perfection:
Continue to simmer, uncovered, for 1.5-2 hours, or until the rice is very tender and the mixture has thickened into a creamy pudding. Stir frequently during the last 30 minutes of cooking to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking. -
Add Vanilla and Cinnamon:
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and ground cinnamon. -
Cool and Serve:
Let the creamy rice pudding cool slightly before serving. Top with optional toppings like ground cinnamon, raisins, or whipped cream.
Notes
- If you like your pudding thicker, continue simmering until the desired consistency is reached.
