  1. 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  2. 1 lb crabmeat (fresh or canned)
  3. 1 cup celery, diced
  4. 1/2 cup onion, diced
  5. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  6. 2 tbsp butter
  7. 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  8. 1 cup milk
  9. 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  10. 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  11. 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  12. Salt and pepper to taste
  13. Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine shrimp, crabmeat, celery, onion, and garlic.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to create a roux. Gradually whisk in milk until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in mayonnaise and cheddar cheese until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Fold the seafood mixture into the sauce. Transfer to a baking dish.
  • Sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly over the top.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add some Old Bay seasoning to the seafood mixture.
  • This casserole can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
