This creamy and tangy Cottage Cheese Pasta Sauce is the perfect addition to your pasta dishes! Made with cottage cheese, Parmesan, and a hint of garlic and herbs, this sauce is rich in flavor and easy to make

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 2 cups of cottage cheese
  2. 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  3. 1/4 cup of heavy cream or milk
  4. 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  5. 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  6. 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil
  7. 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
  8. Salt and pepper, to taste
  9. 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  10. 1/2 cup of fresh chopped basil (optional)
  11. 1 pound of pasta (spaghetti, penne, or your choice)

Instructions

  • Cook the Pasta:
Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving a little pasta water for later.

  • Prepare the Sauce:
In a blender or food processor, combine the cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, heavy cream (or milk), garlic powder, onion powder, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  • Heat the Sauce:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the blended cottage cheese sauce to the pan and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.

  • Combine with Pasta:
Toss the cooked pasta in the skillet with the sauce, ensuring all the pasta is well coated.

  • Serve and Garnish:
Serve the pasta topped with fresh chopped basil, if desired.

Notes

  • You can add extra herbs, such as fresh thyme or parsley, for additional flavor.
  • This sauce works great with any pasta type, from spaghetti to penne or fettuccine.
  • For a lighter version, substitute the heavy cream with milk or even Greek yogurt.
