Description

Condensed Milk & Cinnamon Doughnut Puffs (Melktert Bombs) are soft, fried dough balls filled with a creamy custard and condensed milk filling, then rolled in cinnamon sugar for a sweet, warm treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Oil for frying
  • ½ can condensed milk
  • ½ cup custard (store-bought or homemade)
  • Cinnamon sugar for coating

Instructions

  1. Mix the cake flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, milk, and melted butter into a soft dough.
  2. Roll the dough into small balls and deep fry them in hot oil until golden brown.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the custard and condensed milk together to make the filling.
  4. Once the doughnuts are cooled, use a piping bag to pipe the custard and condensed milk mixture into the center of each doughnut.
  5. Roll the filled doughnuts in cinnamon sugar and serve warm.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is at the right temperature (about 350°F or 175°C) to avoid soggy doughnuts.
  • For a creamier filling, you can add more condensed milk to the custard mixture if desired.
  • These doughnuts are best served fresh and warm, as they will be at their crispiest and fluffiest.
