Description

This hearty and comforting chicken and noodles recipe is a slow-cooked favorite, made with tender chicken, creamy soup, and egg noodles. Perfect for busy weeknights or cozy family dinners!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 2 cans cream of chicken soup

  2. 2 cans chicken broth (15oz each)

  3. 1 stick butter or margarine

  4. 1 lb chicken breasts (fresh or frozen)

  5. 1 package frozen egg noodles (24 oz, such as Reames)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Crockpot: Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.

  • Add Liquids: Pour the chicken broth and cream of chicken soup over the chicken breasts. Add the stick of butter on top.

  • Cook: Cover the crockpot and set it on low for 6-7 hours.

  • Shred the Chicken: After the cooking time is complete, remove the chicken breasts and shred them with a fork. Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot.

  • Add Noodles: Stir in the frozen egg noodles and cook for an additional 2 hours on low. Stir every 30 minutes until the noodles are fully cooked and tender.

  • Serve: Once done, give it a final stir and serve warm.

Notes

  • Frozen Noodles: Reames frozen egg noodles work best, but any frozen egg noodles can be used.

  • Add Veggies: For extra flavor and nutrition, you can add vegetables such as peas or carrots.

  • Freezer-Friendly: This dish can be made ahead and frozen for later. Just thaw and heat before serving.
