    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon – warm spice for depth
    • 2/3 cup granulated sugar – adds sweetness to the batter
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened – for a tender crumb
    • 2 large eggs – adds richness
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract – boosts flavor
    • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour – for structure
    • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder – for leavening
    • 1/2 cup milk – ensures moisture

    For the Apple Mixture:

    • 2 large apples, peeled and chopped – use your favorite variety
    • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar – complements apple tartness
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon – enhances the apple flavor

    For the Glaze:

    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar – creates a sweet drizzle
    • 23 tablespoons milk – adjusts the glaze consistency

Instructions

Preheat and Prep:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

Make the Cinnamon Swirl:
2. Mix light brown sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside.

Prepare the Apple Mixture:
3. Combine chopped apples, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon in another bowl. Set aside.

Prepare the Batter:
4. Cream together granulated sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy.
5. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
6. In a separate bowl, whisk flour and baking powder. Gradually add this to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.

Assemble the Bread:
7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture and apple mixture over it. Lightly press the apples into the batter.
8. Pour the remaining batter on top, spread evenly, and top with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture and apple mixture. Swirl lightly with a knife.

Bake:
9. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Make the Glaze:
10. Whisk powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled bread.

Serve:
11. Slice and serve as a sweet indulgence for any time of day!

Notes

  • For best results, use tart apples like Granny Smith or sweeter ones like Honeycrisp, depending on your taste.
  • Adjust the glaze consistency by adding more powdered sugar for thickness or milk for thinness.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
