Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1–2 cups mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a saucepan, whisk together the brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
- Whisk in the whole milk and cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until thickened, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and butter until smooth and the butter has melted.
- Pour the mixture into a bowl and cover with plastic wrap directly on top of the pudding to prevent a skin from forming. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until cold.
- Just before serving, fold in mini chocolate chips. Serve chilled.
Notes
- To prevent the pudding from forming a skin while chilling, ensure the plastic wrap is in direct contact with the surface of the pudding.
- You can adjust the amount of chocolate chips based on your personal preference. More chocolate chips will give a more cookie dough-like texture.
