Description

A hearty and comforting baked casserole combining seasoned ground beef, chili spices, tomato sauce, elbow macaroni, and melted cheddar cheese for a delicious one-dish meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional: crushed crackers or crispy onions for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add tomato sauce, beef broth, mustard, and chili powder to the skillet. Stir to combine and simmer for 5–10 minutes.
  4. Turn off heat and fold in cooked elbow macaroni and half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Top with the remaining cheese and optional crushed crackers or crispy onions.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Substitute ground turkey for a lighter version.
  • Try adding diced onions or bell peppers with the beef for extra flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
