Ingredients
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
1 tablespoon baking powder
-
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
-
1 tablespoon garlic powder
-
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
-
3/4 cup unsalted butter (1 1/2 sticks), divided
-
1 cup whole milk
-
8 ounces shredded mild cheddar cheese
-
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt 1 stick (1/2 cup) of butter in the microwave for 30 seconds or until fully melted. Set aside.
-
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt until well combined.
-
Add the melted butter and milk to the dry ingredients and whisk just until combined. Do not overmix.
-
Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese.
-
Drop heaping spoonfuls of the biscuit dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
-
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
-
Meanwhile, melt the remaining 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) of butter in the microwave for 30 seconds.
-
Stir in the remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt and dried parsley.
-
Once the biscuits are done, brush the melted butter mixture on top of each biscuit. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
-
For an extra cheesy experience, feel free to add more cheddar to the dough or sprinkle extra cheese on top before baking.
-
You can freeze these biscuits before baking. Just freeze the unbaked dough on the baking sheet, then transfer to a freezer bag. When ready to bake, add a couple of extra minutes to the cooking time.
