Description

This refreshing Caprese Salad with Balsamic Glaze combines ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and aromatic basil, drizzled with a sweet and tangy balsamic glaze. Perfect for a quick and light summer meal!


Ingredients

  1. 3 ripe tomatoes, sliced
  2. 1 ball fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  3. 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  4. 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  5. 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  6. 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  7. Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Arrange the sliced tomatoes and mozzarella cheese on a large plate, alternating and overlapping them.
  • Tuck fresh basil leaves in between the tomato and mozzarella slices.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey (if using), salt, and pepper until combined.
  • Drizzle the balsamic glaze mixture over the salad just before serving.
  • Serve immediately or chill for 10 minutes before serving for enhanced flavors.

Notes

  • If you prefer a sweeter glaze, you can add honey to the balsamic vinegar and olive oil mixture.
  • Fresh mozzarella is ideal for this dish, but you can substitute it with regular mozzarella if needed.
