These easy and festive Cake Mix Crinkle Cookies are a perfect treat for any occasion, especially during the holiday season! Made with simple ingredients like white cake mix, eggs, and a splash of vanilla, these cookies are soft, chewy, and topped with powdered sugar for that signature crinkle. Add a pop of color with red and green food coloring for extra holiday cheer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • Red and green food coloring gel (optional)
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with a silicon baking mat or parchment paper.
  2. Mix Ingredients:
In a large bowl, mix eggs, oil, vanilla, and cake mix until fully combined.
  3. Color the Dough (Optional):
Divide the dough into two equal portions and place each in a separate bowl. Add red food coloring to one and green to the other. Mix until the color is fully incorporated into the dough.
  4. Chill Dough:
Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes. This will make the dough easier to work with and help the cookies bake fluffier.
  5. Form Cookies:
Using a tablespoon cookie scoop, measure out the dough and roll each ball in powdered sugar. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet. If the dough is too sticky, add one tablespoon of flour to the dough and mix it in.
  6. Bake:
Bake for 9-11 minutes at 375°F (190°C). Allow the cookies to cool for a minute or two on the baking sheet before transferring them to a cooling rack.

Notes

  • For extra holiday flair, you can use different colored sprinkles on top of the powdered sugar before baking.
  • Be careful not to overbake, as these cookies should be soft and chewy.
  • If you prefer a non-holiday version, just omit the food coloring for simple white crinkle cookies.
