A hearty and flavorful one-pot meal with ground beef or sausage, cabbage, and Cajun spices—perfect for a comforting and easy dinner!
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or sausage (or a mix of both)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced (green or red)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 cup cooked white rice
- 1 ½ teaspoons Cajun seasoning
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 cup chicken or beef broth (for extra moisture)
- 1 tablespoon olive
Instructions

Brown the Meat
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat. Add ground beef or sausage and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. -
Sauté the Vegetables
Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the meat. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened and fragrant. -
Add the Cabbage & Seasonings
Stir in chopped cabbage and mix well. Add Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, oregano, and thyme. Pour in diced tomatoes (with juices) and 1 cup broth. Stir well and cover. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender.

Add the Rice & Serve
Stir in cooked white rice and mix everything together. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes, then serve hot!
