Instructions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, minced garlic, asiago cheese, butter, dried basil, lemon pepper, cayenne, turmeric, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Place the basa fillets in a baking dish. Spread the mayo-cheese mixture evenly over each fillet.
- Sprinkle panko breadcrumbs and extra asiago cheese on top. Drizzle lightly with olive oil for extra crispiness.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes or until the fish flakes easily and the topping is golden brown and crisp.
- Serve hot, optionally with a wedge of lemon or a side of rice or veggies.
Notes
- Swap asiago with parmesan or romano if desired.
- This recipe also works beautifully with cod or haddock.
- For extra crunch, broil the dish for the final 2 minutes—watch closely!
- Serve with steamed broccoli or garlic butter green beans for a full meal.
