Description
These buttery, soft biscuits are a simple yet indulgent treat, perfect for any meal. Made with buttermilk and baked in melted butter, they are irresistible with a golden crust and tender inside.
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: The base for these soft, fluffy biscuits.
- Baking powder: Helps the biscuits rise.
- Sugar: Adds a hint of sweetness.
- Salt: Balances the flavors.
- Buttermilk: Adds richness and helps the biscuits rise.
- Melted butter: Creates a crispy, buttery crust
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Stir in the buttermilk until the dough comes together (regular milk won’t work here).
- Melt a stick of butter in the microwave and prepare an 8×8 or 9×9 square dish with a thin layer of nonstick spray.
- Pour the melted butter into the bottom of the dish.
- Spoon the biscuit dough into the butter, ensuring it “swims” in the butter.
- Bake at 425°F (220°C) for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
- You can use low-fat buttermilk if desired.
- These biscuits are best served warm with a drizzle of honey or jam.
