Description

These buttery, soft biscuits are a simple yet indulgent treat, perfect for any meal. Made with buttermilk and baked in melted butter, they are irresistible with a golden crust and tender inside.

Ingredients

  1. All-purpose flour: The base for these soft, fluffy biscuits.
  2. Baking powder: Helps the biscuits rise.
  3. Sugar: Adds a hint of sweetness.
  4. Salt: Balances the flavors.
  5. Buttermilk: Adds richness and helps the biscuits rise.
  6. Melted butter: Creates a crispy, buttery crust

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  • Stir in the buttermilk until the dough comes together (regular milk won’t work here).
  • Melt a stick of butter in the microwave and prepare an 8×8 or 9×9 square dish with a thin layer of nonstick spray.
  • Pour the melted butter into the bottom of the dish.
  • Spoon the biscuit dough into the butter, ensuring it “swims” in the butter.
  • Bake at 425°F (220°C) for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

  • You can use low-fat buttermilk if desired.
  • These biscuits are best served warm with a drizzle of honey or jam.
