Description
These Breakfast Sausage Crescent Rolls are a simple yet irresistible recipe perfect for breakfast, brunch, or snacks! Made with flaky crescent rolls, savory sausage, and gooey mozzarella cheese, they’re ready in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- For the Crescent Rolls:
- 1 pound bulk sausage
- 1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls
- 2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese (or cheddar for extra flavor)
Instructions
. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook the Sausage:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbled. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
3. Prepare Crescent Rolls:
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. Lay them flat on a clean surface.
4. Stuff and Roll:
- Place a spoonful of cooked sausage and shredded cheese on the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll the dough tightly from the wide end to the pointed tip, encasing the filling.
5. Arrange in Baking Dish:
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and place the rolls seam-side down. Ensure they are snug but not overlapping.
6. Top with Cheese (Optional):
Sprinkle extra shredded cheese over the rolls for a gooey topping.
7. Bake:
- Bake for 15–18 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
8. Serve:
Let the rolls cool for 5 minutes before serving. Perfect with coffee or tea!
Notes
- Substitute mozzarella with cheddar for a sharper flavor.
- Add diced bell peppers or cooked onions to the sausage for extra flavor.
- Serve with a side of marinara or gravy for dipping!
