Description
This Bone Broth Hot Chocolate is a unique, nourishing twist on the classic hot chocolate, made with chicken bone broth, cocoa powder, and a touch of maple syrup for a comforting and healthy treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- ⅔ cup chicken bone broth
- 1 ½ cups milk of choice (coconut or regular milk works)
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 2–3 tbsp cocoa powder
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Dash of cinnamon
- Toppings: marshmallows or whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, bring the bone broth to a light simmer.
- Add the milk, maple syrup, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and cinnamon to the saucepan. Whisk until creamy and smooth.
- Pour the hot chocolate into two mugs. Use a milk frother if desired for a foamy texture. Top with marshmallows or whipped cream if you like. Sip and enjoy!
Notes
- Choose a chicken bone broth without too many added herbs or seasonings.
- For extra nutrients, add 1 scoop of collagen peptides to the hot chocolate and whisk it in before serving.
- Swap maple syrup for honey, though it will be a bit sweeter.
- For a more chocolatey taste, feel free to add more cocoa powder.
- To make a single serving, simply halve the recipe!
- Enjoy this warm, nutrient-dense treat!
